With a scientific symposium our institute celebrates its first quarter of a century.

September 14 and 15, 2017

In 1992, a group of scientists in Bremen set sail for an expedition into the world of microorganisms.

A quarter century has passed since then.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology we hold a scientific symposium on September 14, 2017, with current and previous employees and partners from national and international cooperations that have accompanied us over the years.

On September 15 we celebrate the event with colleagues and partners and their families with workshops, info booths and discussion groups.

In a satellite event, the International Max Planck Research School of Marine Microbiology MarMic celebrates its 15th anniversary on the afternoon of September 15.
